Breaking the Mould: Celebrating Women’s History
Founded in 1903, the Workers' Educational Association (WEA) is a charity and the UK’s largest voluntary sector provider of adult education. With its headquarters in Edinburgh, WEA Scotland delivers nearly 800 courses for over 8,500 students each year.
Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, WEA Scotland’s Breaking the Mould project aimed to record and celebrate inspirational women from North Edinburgh who have made a difference to the lives of others locally, nationally and internationally.
As part of the project, participants made audio and film recordings with key figures on Google Nexus tablets. These recordings help to document their inspirational stories and achievements to date.
